Known as the “Costa Calida” (or “Warm Coast”), the Murcia Region enjoys over 250 km of shoreline spanning two seas: the Minor Sea (Mar Menor) and the Mediterranean Sea. The landscape is peppered with breathtaking cliffs, secluded beaches of endless white sand, lively seaports and natural coves of crystal-clear waters.
Many of these areas are part of the region’s network of Protected Natural Lands.
A noteworthy geographical feature is La Manga, a strip of coastline that encloses and separates the 170 km2 Minor Sea lagoon from the Mediterranean, connected only by channels or gorges. The warm waters of the Minor Sea have always been renowned for their health benefits.
Areas of ecological interest are also found, such as the San Pedro del Pinatar salt flats and the Calblanque Natural Park.
Reservoirs, rivers and two natural parks make the Murcia Region a clean and highly appealing area for tourism.
The inland areas of the Murcia region offer a very rich heritage of natural landscapes and reserves. Dreamlike places that can be enjoyed by both those seeking peace and fresh air, as well as others who wish to supplement an intensive, active tourism offering with the respite of recreational areas.
Those looking to enjoy nature will find an activity that best matches their tastes: hiking trails, hill-climbing, on horseback or by foot.
We´d like to recommend two not-to-be-missed alternatives. They are the Sierra Espuña and El Valle Natural Parks, which all can enjoy, whether seeking activities or relaxation.
PolarisWorld and the environment
Awareness is fundamental to protect the environment and preserve the ecosystem in our region. With the purpose of anticipating client needs, Polaris World decided to build a desalination plant that will produce over 56,000 m3 of water per day, enough to supply over 200,000 people for an entire year. This in-house system will also provide enough water to meet the additional needs of regional tourism.
The entire process will also be supplemented with resident wastewater treatment, and subsequent use for green areas and golf course irrigation. A selection of low water consumption plant varieties will assist in the optimisation of this precious resource, and in protecting the environment.
Moreover, a reservoir at La Torre Golf Resort, and water canalisation systems at Hacienda Riquelme Golf Resort are presently under construction. These projects are intended to preserve the environment, and to make the most of the available resources.

Polaris World and Sport
Both sport and Polaris World share the same values. Polaris World identifies itself with effort, the breaking of barriers and capacity for progress found in all sports and social environments, which is why Polaris World do everything they can for basketball and wheelchair basketball.
In 2007 Polaris World increased its participation in the world of sport and once again shown its interest in participating in large events. Recently the company has involved itself with motorcycle racing and has created a team which is one of the favourites to win the 125 cc category: Polaris World Racing Team Murcia.
The Italian racing driver Mattia Pasini has joined Joan Olivé on the Polaris World Racing Team, bringing with him ample experience in the category as well as enthusiasm to reproduce the form and results of the 2006 season. Pasini, on his Aprilia 125 cc RSA, and Olivé on his Aprilia 125 cc RSA Kit, will try to take Polaris World Racing Team Murcia to the very top of the podium.
